Who Are We? The Motorcycle Rider Course (MRC) is a motorcycle skills training program affiliated with the Ottawa Safety Council (OSC), and certified by the Canada Safety Council. The MRC is operated by a dedicated team consisting of over fifty instructors, mechanics, and office staff. The OSC is a registered non-profit organisation, reinvesting all income in equipment, program improvement, and instructor training. (Registered Charity No. 013-8859-10.) The National Motorcycle Training program, developed and administered by the Canada Safety Council, is Gearing Up. This evolved out of the first national program, administered by the Canada Safety Council, which was the program originally developed and run in Ottawa. Being trained by the Ottawa Safety Council MRC puts you in the hands of instructors who can trace their roots back to the start of the national program. We're proud of our role in originating motorcycle training in North America. We were known as the Ottawa-Carleton Safety Council before the consolidation of the city of greater Ottawa in 2001. We offer provincially-certified training courses associated with the Ontario graduated licensing levels, additional courses for honing riding skills, specialized events such as track days, a course on performing winter maintenance, and intensive instructor training in off season. Our course content, sites, and instructors are certified annually by the Ontario Ministry of Transport and the Canada Safety Council. Our instructors are highly qualified and intensively trained and have their training refreshed annually, and a number are also certified License Examiners for the Ministry. Acknowledgments |
